Dr. Song-Lin Zhang, Associate Professor of Chemistry at School of Chemical and Material Engineering, Jiangnan University.

Dr. Song-Lin Zhang was born in 1982 in Chizhou, Anhui Province. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Applied Chemistry in 2004 from University of Science & Technology of China (USTC), and continued his PhD study in USTC under the supervision of Prof. Qing-Xiang Guo and Prof. Lei Liu from Sept 2004 to June 2010. During Oct. 2007-Oc.2008, Dr. Zhang was sponsored by China Scholarship Council (CSC) to study in Department of Chemistry, the University of Tokyo under the supervision of Prof. Eiichi Nakamura. In June 2010, he obtained Doctor’s degree in Organic Chemistry from USTC, and then took a position as Associate Professor from July 2010 in School of Chemical and Material Engineering, Jiangnan University.
Zhang and coworkers’ research interests are focused on the development of new organic reactions by a combined experimental/computational study. Currently, two research programs have being launched in his group on developing novel C-C activation reactions and trifluoromethylation reactions. Their productive work has led to the publication of more than 30 high-quality papers in journals includingJ. Am. Chem. Soc.,Chem. Commun.,J. Org. Chem.,OrganometallicsandDalton Transactions. Their research activities are generally supported by theNational Natural Science Foundation of ChinaandNatural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province. They are also financed by research funds granted by Jiangnan University. Dr. Zhang was awarded byDean Excellent Scholar of China Academy of Science(2010),“Zhishan”Young Scholar of Jiangnan Universityfrom 2014-2017, and also sharedScience and Technology Award of Jiangsu Province(2015).
